In my photography class, we have to create a personal philosophy about the camera. To me, the purpose of the camera is to capture the beauty of something – whether it be a person, an animal, or something in nature. I also feel the the purpose of the camera is to share your voice. When using a camera to express your voice, you can easily focus on what you are trying to say. You can do that by blurring out distractions and brightening the subject. By blurring out distractions, you are able to have a sharper look and draw the attention of your audience to the subject. When being able to brighten your subject you are bringing a focus to your subject in a clear way. I feel your subjects express your voice, and the camera helps bring a clearer look in to your thoughts.
